My insurers refunded me around £130 on my premium when I added business use. Guess each is different0

direct line automatically include business mileage for free. Any other insurer I have been with I have asked about cover when going to meetings or driving to town to do business lodgements in a bank. they have said as long as I am not carrying goods or samples related to the business then its covered.Mortgage = [STRIKE]£113,495 (May 2009)[/STRIKE] £67462.74 Jun 20190

The change that often causes any difference is the increase in annual mileage.
changes mid term are also an issue as a lot of insurance has removed the free changes to get prices down so now admin and change/cancellation fees.0 -
For insurance purposes commuting is defined as being your "permanent place of work", so would not include travelling to other sites.

That link is written by an employee of confused who knows little about Insurance but lots about writing bluff for SEO.
This part is absolute B.S....
"Dropping someone else off at their place of work may also be classed as commuting by your insurer."0 -
Well to be honest it is more like attending different depot's for the day but as the depot is not not my usual depot I can claim the mileage. So I assumed this would be classed as commuting to and from work (not business use) if that makes sense.
I will negotiate maybe get an extra holiday or something, thank you for your help.
Commuting for the purposes of the car insurance is almost always to a single place of work. As an agency driver who could be at five different places in a week I had to have business insurance. However there are different classes of business insurance and the one where you're just travelling to meetings, not carrying goods etc is usually free to add on most policies. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. When I added business use to my Tesco car insurance it added very little cost. Make sure your insurance company understand your business travel is limited and nor each day.0
