Hello all, i'm confused about the pet passport scheme. apparently you can travel to Isle of man on a ferry freely to and from the mainland, but do you still have to have a pet passport, i can't seem to get an answer about this anywhere. I currently dont have a pet passport.

There are no requirements for pets travelling directly between the UK and either the Channel Islands or the Isle of Man.0 -
Just been to my local medivet. They want £54 for rabies vaccination and £90 for the pet passport. I believe these prices are exorbitant. Just in case a Brexit deal not agreed, a blood sample and blood test will be required. In the event of a no deal, the total price will be £300.
Any thoughts?0 -
Shop around!
That sounds expensive.
I had to buy a new pet passport for one of my dogs earlier this year as the worming pages in the old one were full- what a rip off. I can't remember what I paid for the pp but it wasn't £90.
Just checking my cc statement it looks like it cost £35
Both dogs had a rabies booster last year- again it wasn't as much as you have been quoted.
When I bought pp originally 4 years ago the passport and the rabies vaccination came in at around £60 in total.
You do need a pet passport for travel to Eire- silly really as no one checks and there is a land border- but there we go! (Sorry in 4 years we have been stopped once, but that was in Crufts week)Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
