I have a hard drive from my previous laptop that I want to retrieve the files & photos etc from.
I have put it into a cradle and attached to another laptop USB but all I can see is the main programs the previous laptop had but can not see documents, photos etc.
How can I now find these?

In the root of the drive, where you see folders such as Program Files and Windows listed, there will be a folder called Users. If you go in there and choose the folder with the username you used, you should start to recognise some of the names from the list of folders - such as Pictures, Documents and Music.0

Without wishing to seem prying, but how did you access the photos previously? Was it via something like a Dropbox account or a shortcut on your desktop? If so, what was it called? No it just says my name - I have now changed permissions in security and can now accees my documents but can still not get the photos0
