Returning goods to China

I purchased two TV boxes from a Chinese company (Banggood) both of the boxes were faulty and did not work on arrival. I had to open a Paypal dispute which went in my favour and I was requested to return the goods at my cost using a tracked service before a refund could be made. After getting a quote for the return it costs £53!
Needless to say I am not happy it's more or less the same prices of the two boxes.
Any advice other than not to purchase goods from China?

I have had banggood replace stuff that was broken with just photographs but I guess that's a bit late now if you've opened a dispute. What is the weight of these boxes as £53 sounds like a lot of money?Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. Weight is 900 Gms. There are cheaper options with Royal Mail but they do not have international tracking. Paypal are insisting to use a tracked service.0

It's got to be tracked. Paypal have insisted on this, that's how their refunding system works.0

This is the risk you take when buying from overseas. However, as mentioned above, Banggood are normally pretty good - did you speak to them first?
You could try https://www.transglobalexpress.co.uk for a better price.0 -
I'll presume you've checked parcel2go for the cheapest tracked service?0

They are definitely not the cheapest and have some of the worst customer service going!DigForVictory wrote: »I'll presume you've checked parcel2go for the cheapest tracked service?0 -
Paypal do have a refund scheme which may help towards it.

Yes I have been looking into this, although the maximum payout is £15. Just got to find an alternative cheaper tracked courier.theonlywayisup wrote: »Paypal do have a refund scheme which may help towards it.
