how to find hardwood floor layer

we are thinking of replacing our hall carpet with hardwood flooring. I have seen some on line I like at a good price, compared to local shop but how do I get it laid? I looked up checkatrade and all local layers seem to expect you to buy flooring from them which is much more expensive - and we have large hall. We have no carpentry or DIY skills to do it ourselves.

Its not a difficult job, ask a carpenter or a handyman to give you a price on a labour only basis. Unless it's a very large random shape it'll be a days work including replacing the skirtingSome people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

As above, it's a simple job for a general handyman type of person. As always, ask friends and neighbours, or a local community Facebook page, for recommendations.
Alternatively, ask a local carpet shop for the names/numbers of a couple of their fitters. The vast majority of carpet shops use self-employed contractors to fit their carpets, rather than employing them full-time. Pretty much any decent carpet fitter will also be able to do wooden flooring as well.0 -
Join a local forum like this, Nextdoor, and ask the question of your neighbours in the surrounding area, they may show you the work that has been done.0
