Under 18 Travel insurance

Hi there. First time poster!

My 17yr old daughter wants to travel to the USA and Europe this summer with a 19yr old friend. I am trying to get travel insurance for her. So far if I arrange the insurance the family cover is ONLY for 16 yr olds on an organised school/college trip and with a responsible adult. Therefore she would not be covered as her trip is NOT organised by school/college.
What travel insurance can she get as a 17 yr old to travel independently with a 19 yr old? Thank you for your assistance.

Try Churchill, my Son (13) is covered with any adult.

Insureandgo's annual multi-trip policy states;

Everyone on an annual multi-trip policy is entitled to travel
independently, but children under 18 who travel alone must be
dropped off and picked up by a responsible adult aged 18 or
over.

So she would be covered as she is travelling with an nineteen year old. Of course I don't know about your policy.
