I just got a quote from Halifax for building & contents insurance and it says I will get cash back of £50 after 70 days.

After some digging, I found out I can choose a free welcome gift after taking out home insurance of either:

1. NOW TV Sky Cinema Pass

2. Amazon bundle

3. One night away

https://halifaxinsurancerewards.co.uk/welcomegift/Claim/

The part which confuses me is this part, “If you don't choose a reward within 60 days of your policy start date, you will automatically receive your £50 cashback payment as a cheque if you pay annually for your home insurance, or by BACS if you pay monthly.”

Does this mean I could get £100 cashback? Or is it simply £50 cashback OR the free gift?

It looks like if you don't select a gift then you get the £50 cash

    You can't have a gift and £50

I thought it was too good to be true, but the terms and conditions are confusing.

It doesn't mention anywhere in the "£50 Cashback Offer Conditions" that if you choose a reward, you won't get the £50.
