Bought a Maplins brand shredder last September. It stopped working recently so I took it back tonight; they would happily exchange it. In fact I opted to trade up to a better model and they gave me full value trade for the broken item.
They didn't need to offer a full exchange value given it was older than 6 months, so +1 to Maplins.
