My Daughter lives in Ibiza and we booked flights with jet2 to visit her for 3 days. She broke her elbow and needed to fly home for surgery. We were unable to use the flights as we needed to care for her. I wonder if I am able to claim monies back on my credit card for the unused flights. We had not taken insurance out prior to booking the flights.

Based on the info given it's unlikely you have any claim against the airline or CC. Regardless of the circumstances it was your decision not to take the flights.
As a side issue, if your daughter lives in Ibiza why did she need to return to the UK for treatment. My sister lives in Canada but doesn't return to the UK whenever you needs medical attention.0

I agree with Dresden - Jet2 have not broken their side of the contract.
I just wonder (I know you said that you had no insurance) whether you have an added value bank account?
Most seem to have travel insurance added to them.0

For flights from the UK you can reclaim air passenger duty from the airline. Subject to a fee.0

You seem to be holding your credit card company responsible for both your daughter's accident and your failure to take out travel insurance. Did your daughter not feel able to use her EHIC?Ethical moneysaver0
