Powrmatic Air Conditioner?

Has anyone ever come across this company before or ever encountered the below air conditioner?
http://www.powrmatic.co.uk/products/air-conditioning/browse/view/product/vision-2-3/
It is basically an air conditioner without the external condenser unit. According to the website it is relatively quiet at 27db-41db (max cooling).
Seems far more quieter than the portable ones.
I'm thinking of have these fitted in several rooms but have never come across this company or heard about them before.
Would like to know if anyone has any thing to say about them.
Have spent hours googling and youtube to find some kind of review about the product itself (Powrmatic Vision), but came up short.
Thanks

It's simply not possible to produce cooling without heat, so if it has no external unit then basically it's not going to have the desired effect.
It's like opening a freezer door and expecting it to cool the room, any cooling would be offset by heat produced in the system, this often means the outside of the freezer OR the radiator at the back would get very warm indeed.
What I believe these units do is create a cooling effect by vaporising water into the airflow to make it feel cooler. A bit like draping a wet towel over a large room fan.........“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Thanks, I understand the concept.
Probably forgot to mention it has an inlet for fresh air, and outlet for the hot air. So 2 15cm holes would have to be drilled including a 1cm hole for the condensate pipe.
To me it sounds like it is just a normal mobile air conditioner except it's suck to the wall with inlet/outlet hoses.
I'm sure the compressor would be built in, but how do they make it so much quieter than a traditional mobile air con unit?
'The Powrmatic Vision 2.3 is a twin duct low level PTAC air conditioner & heat pump and removes the need for an outdoor unit. The Vision 2.3 requires no external condenser, saving you costs on installation and improving the aesthetic appearance of your building. The 162mm twin duct holes reduce the outdoor impact of air conditioning systems and seamlessly integrates into any exterior building design.
The Vision 2.3 has an impressive 32 dB(A) sound level and with a depth of just 17cm, the Vision 2.3 is by far the slimmest unit in this category of product'0 -
I think these kind of models were released around 2015 so only 2 years old, hard to find anyone using these?0

A client of mine has installed them, seem to work well. I will probably install them in my own house if we get more regular heatwaves - simple to replace existing radiators below windows with them.
It's a monobloc heat pump which just means that everything is integral in one unit - it's a proper heat pump, not like the poster's description above, with the heat rejected through the external air duct.0 -

Do you have any experience with them?
I read it can replace the existing radiators aswell which is something I would like to do however it says it can only heat from the existing boiler at low heat or something?0 -
I have seen them working, seem to do the job for residential rooms. The technology is not new, we've been using unitary DX units like this for decades, but there hasn't been the demand before for residential properties like there is now.
They can replace the radiators, with the heating pipework reconnected to the ac unit - it then uses the same integral fan system to blow out heated air. Just wouldn't give the same heat output as a very large radiator, so you would have to check this against required heat outputs for each room.0 -

One last question, the only company that I can see that are doing these are Powrmatic, would you be able to recommend any other companies? Cheers0 -
I'm not aware of anyone else doing small versions for residential use, the only other ones I know of are more industrial and much larger/uglier than needed for residential units.
If there is a large market for it, then I would expect other competitors to get involved - at the moment it looks like a very niche market, hence the high costs involved.0
