Ticking the receive correspondence -any bearing on winning?

Morning all,
I'm new to the comps forum but not new to MSE site.

I've a bit of time off work and thought I'd have a go at some comps for a bit of fun and hopefully to win something to add to the coffers.

I just wanted to ask what you seasoned compers do about the bits that are invariably at the end of most forms when they ask you to tick if you agree to contact being made about the product.

Do you say yes or no and do you think this has any bearing on winning? I wondered if they automatically filter out those that don't want correspondence?

Thank you

11 If you opt in or out of their mailing / 3rd party mailings, does it affect your chances?
I ALWAYS indicate a big fat 'no' to both of those, unless it is something that I'd really like to hear more about or a comp you enter by signing up for their newsletter.

It should make no difference to whether you are included in the comp or not, although some smaller companies may break the rules. I have to say I’ve been really lucky with wins & it seems to have made no difference whatsoever to my chances by always opting out where I can. It just means that I end up with less spam & on less junk mail lists.
