Default info

Hi,

I have a few old defaults on my credit file, mostly 2012/2013. Last year I took what I thought were sensible steps by settling any outstanding debts with the various credit companies. I notice some of these have logged the settlements on my report, will the defaults stay on my report from the time they have noted the settlement or from the initial default date? I'm hoping it's the initial default date!!

Thanks for your help!

From the default date. Settled looks better than outstanding debt too

Just keep yourself on the straight and narrow.

The older the defaults or settlement dates are some lenders may disregard them but it doesnt mean you can then go out and have a splurge.
