Wall fixings for metal shelves

Hi all,
I'm looking to fit metal shelving to the walls in the under the stairs cupboard.
e.g.

The previous owner tried to attach some shelving straight to the plasterboard which hasn't held and the shelf needs propping up.
So I need to drill through the plasterboard and into the wall behind. I'm guessing it's the grey cinder blocks as that's what I can see in the attic where there isn't any plasterboard.
What fixings should I use?
The longest screws I could find are are Frame Fixing screws (http://www.diy.com/departments/bq-frame-fixing-dia10mm-l135mm-pack-of-16/254478_BQ.prd) but I'm not sure they're correct.
Thanks in advance.

Ideally you want to find where the timber studs are behind the plasterboard and fix the shelf supports to those. Then you can just use ordinary wood screws, as long as they're of sufficient length to go through the plasterboard and have a decent length left to bite into the timber.0

How far behind the plasterboard is the wall? It will either be studded as casper says or it could be literally just stuck onto the bare /brick/block with adhesive. If it is studs then locate them using a small nail and use them as the fixing points where you can, if that isn't possible then fix a wooden batten to the wall using the studs and then fix the shelving to the batten. If it is plasterboard that has been stuck onto the block wall then use 7mm rawl plugs and something like a 2" x10 screws.Norn Iron Club member No 3530
