MCOL received for 11 PCNs, 9 of which were a shock

Hi all! The NEWBIES thread has already proven really helpful and I have already submitted AOS, now I'm looking for advice on building my defense!

Having mooched on the forum for a bit, I haven't seen a case like mine and I'm stuck on how to proceed. Here are the details:

  • Two PCNs received in March for displaying an expired ticket in a car park operated by UK Parking Management and Enforcement (UKPE).
  • Naive appeal to to UKPE rejected. :(
  • Letter Before Claim received for two known PCNs and nine additional PCNs, which I had no prior correspondence about or knowledge of.
  • MCOL Claim Form received 23/06/2017 for eleven PCNs, plus indemnity and fees.

My original appeal letter included a photo of my valid car parking permit, which had fallen off the inside of the windscreen. Since its rejection, I've buried my head in the sand. I hadn't done enough homework and I thought the "Letter Before Claim" was so preposterous that it was just a scare tactic to elicit a response.

I don't really know how to proceed for a couple of reasons:

  • The nine bogus PCNs (the first of which is dated 25/01!).
  • The Claim Form has a typo, with the reference # of one of the two "real" PCNs omitted, and one of the bogus PCN references listed twice.

Thank you for reading this far!! Is anybody able to advise?

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
