The low skilled migrants should not be here in the first place. We should only allow migrants in with real value to us, they should also arrange somewhere to live before they get here and should have enough money to last them a few years. The reason they cannot "afford" housing is that they are sending a lot of money home therefore not spending it here.

I really do not think they deserve any sympathy, they have the choice. A lot of the kids that were born here are struggling more than the migrants, I know it will cause outrage but I think British born people should have priority over migrants when it comes to buying affordable property or even being offered social housing.

totally agree. i do think some form of migration of low skilled people is good in order to for these jobs to be filled so we all get provided cheaper low skilled services. however it should not be too much so that it becomes a burden on the uk and the taxpayer. those who have been here and worked/contributed longer should get more of the benefits (e.g. pensions etc).

40% down will take years, I mean look how long the bubble took to expand so much

The bubble was slow to expand so much, it will be slow to go back to correct valuations

I am quite happy to have low skilled migrants so long as they are young

If they were not here we would have to send our own kids to pick the strawberries and wash the dishes and clean the streets.

yeh. the key thing is they need to provide cheap labour skills for us to so then we get these services cheaply.

But that is how it used to work.

I used to spend the summer picking fruit in the fields and that sort of thing. Kids used to be able to get summer holiday jobs or weekend jobs doing this sort of thing, but they can't now because of all the work gangs from other countries going round doing all the work they used to do. That is where the work ethic has gone, you have to catch them while they're keen, if they can get out when they are young and earn some money for things they want then they will be more inclined to work when they are older.

Have to admit to being shocked at one of Khorbyn's throwaway answers to someone, asking whether 16-18 year olds should get the same minimum wage as full adults, and he said they should. That would be total destruction of the labour market for youngsters then, they used to be useful for this sort of job as they were cheap, but why employ any youngsters when you have to pay the same as you pay for adults?

We need to go back to summer jobs and weekend jobs for kids, that is where they learn that working has rewards, and that is where they learn that if you do not turn up you do not get paid. Youngsters need the work ethic drummed into them, it will not happen when the cheap overseas labour is taking all their chances.

But think about all the extra time they would have to attend Momentum rallies and post anti-Semitic abuse on Twitter. Kids should be participating in the vanguard of the socialist revolution while doing Geography degrees for free, not contributing to the capitalist economy.
