Bought secondhand car from AA dealership. Very unhappy. What are my rights/options?

Hey guys,
I was hoping for a bit of advice as to what my rights as someone who has purchased a second hand car from a dealership. I’ll detail the situation below, but its worth noting that I fully intend to reach out to the Garage, but I wanted to know my positions/rights/actions available to me before I did.
I purchased a 07 Mazda 6 on the 1st of March.
I paid £1600 for the car, with a part-exchange with my horrible old car. Part of verbally agreed deal was a fresh MOT and a spare wheel as I didn’t like the look of the tires on the car.
6 weeks later I had to perform an emergency break due to the actions of an idiot. This meant I needed to take my car to a garage (that I trust) and had the front breaks (disc and pad) replaced along with the callipers. This cost £661
Now this week while driving through London I clipped a very sharp curb and my tire burst. I didn’t have the tools to take my wheel of and switch with the spare wheel with me so I called the AA. Who after struggling for an hour informed me the spare wheel id been given wasn’t right for my car - and couldn’t be put on. I then had to wait 4-5 hours for an emergency tire call out to deliver and fit a new tire at the cost of £150.
Can I claim any of this money back? If so how? I honestly feel like I shouldn’t have had any of these problems if the garage had done its job right. I don’t have the time/money/know how to take legal action - So i thought id speak to you guys for advice.
Thanks a lot everyone!

IMO. I can't see why the dealership you bought the car from shouldn't be expected to cover the £150 for the replacement tyre to be supplied and fitted as this expense was because of them putting an incorrect spare in the car.
The brakes however are a different matter.
Brakes are a consumable item that wear out and need replacing and as long as the brakes met the minimum standard to pass the MOT then the car that the garage supplied was roadworthy and legal as far as the brakes are concerned.
The car that you bought was fairly cheap so was probably fairly old or high mileage (or both) so there are probably a fair few items that are on the point of needing attention and the brakes may well be the first of many such jobs coming up.0 -
No
They had no opportunity to remedy it. You clearly didn't attempt to mitigate your losses. The issue was caused by you crashing your car in to a curb.
Expect the wheel to be replaced with a correct one at most.
You can't retrospectively bill them for brakes that in their view may or may not have needed replacing.0 -
On a 10 yr old car stuff needs fixing and parts replacing. They might offer you something for the spare wheel mistake - If they agree with the AA guy, its one persons opinion at the moment. Did you get a report saying incorrect wheel or have you checked it yourself? I think I'd just mark it down to experience and move on.Mr Generous - Landlord for more than 10 years. Generous? - Possibly but sarcastic more likely.0

Are you in Scotland? The schools are out there for the Summer brake (It's deliberate BTW!).0

Even if it had been the correct spare wheel you would still have had to pay for a replacement tyre for the burst one so the most I could see you would be able to claim is that they provide you with the correct spare and the difference between the cost and fitting of your new tyre in a garage and the cost of the emergency repair.0

this bit has me confusedThis meant I needed to take my car to a garage (that I trust) and had the front breaks (disc and pad) replaced along with the callipers
You done an emergency stop and then had to go to the garage to have them fixed? are you saying you did not stop or the brakes were naff?
did the fresh mot list any advisory's?
maybe sue London for not supplying a smooth kerb0 -
Why did your brakes need replacing after an emergency stop ? Ask the garage for the correct spare wheel, you're not entitled to anything else.0
