TSB switch with joint account

Hi all,
I applied for the TSB Classic Plus account through MSE in time to be eligible for the £130 cashback.
My issue is that my/our current account is a joint account, and TSB have told me that both me & my wife need to come into branch together to begin the switch. With work & other commitments this is going to be tricky to get done before July 5th or 7th or whenever (i.e. to complete the switch by 14th). Is us both being in branch simultaneously a necessity? E.g. could I initiate the switch from the joint acc to what is currently a non-joint acc, & make it joint later? Or could my wife & I visit the branch at different times? Would it help to initiate the switch online?
Thanks, confusedly,

1 I thought the switch takes 7 working days.
2 You cannot switch a joint account to a sole account.
3 If the only way to get your bribe is a branch visit then that is what you need to do or lose the incentive.
4 There are a lot of people who act as mules to open joint accounts which is why I think they want to see you together.0
