CPM Parking charge

Options
Hi,
I have received a parking charge notice from CPM - UK Car Park Management - Lancing. The reason is listed as "Failure to Pay for the Duration of Stay". It was a pay and display car park and I have paid for 3 hours. This was 2 weeks ago so obviously I don't have the ticket anymore so I have no proof that I paid.
Although the letter doesn't specify, I am assuming the charge is because I parked there for 3 hours and 2 minutes! I thought there should be a 10 minute grace period.
Their appeals procedure mentions IAS and they have the IPC logo on the PCN. However on their website it says they are member of the BPA but there is no mention of that in their letter. Can I ask them for a POPLA code or will an appeal have to go through IPC which I understand is not a fair appeals system?
Any help is much appreciated,.
Thanks in advance.

its the IPC for you (no popla)

a PPC can be a member of both (like I have more than one bank account) , so you check the AOS section of both websites to see which appeal route they follow, in this case the kangaroo court known as the IAS (so not the BPA and not POPLA)

so its send the initial appeal in for IPC members (which will be rejected out of hand) - see the NEWBIES sticky thread for excellent advice on all of this

then IGNORE , for 6 years , unless they try a court case (an MCOL) , in which case come back for more help

yes grace periods DO apply , check the IPC CoP for details

in future , KEEP those paid for tickets for at least 2 mo0nths , preferably much longer , because this saga is very common

even the official MSE advice posted recently tells people to keep paid for tickets for a lot longer than you have done

    see here

so I am afraid there is nothing "obvious" about not having kept it , sorry to say

    good luck

    Same as all IPC tickets:

    - do not pay

    - appeal once, as keeper

    - ignore debt collector letters, only contacting them about any change of address

    - come back if you get a court claim, we know how to defend and it's not putting your credit at risk.

    - did I say, do not pay...

At the risk of criticism by a local, Lancing is a bit like a septic boil! :)

  • Thank you for your reply. I just looked in the car and found the pay and display ticket. So at least I now have proof that I paid. I didn't know I had to keep them for 2 months but will do from now on!
I have read the Newbies guide and will appeal.
    Thanks.

and ADD a copy , scan or pic of the paid for ticket (never send the original ticket)

and as mentioned above, DO NOT SAY WHO WAS DRIVING

the appeal is from the keeper , due to the keeper receiving the pcn

    assume I was driving
