How does it work with private parking companies being able to obtain a driver's name and address with reference to a car registration?
For example, if I wanted to get hold of a motorist's name and address I wouldn't be able to. The Police and DVLA have access to this information for obvious reasons but how come private parking firms can access this information?
Who do they have to go through and do they have to pay a fee each time?
What happened to data protection laws?

How does it work with private parking companies being able to obtain a driver's name and address with reference to a car registration?
they cant , its that simple
the only info a PRIVATE PARKING company can request from the DVLA is the REGISTERED KEEPERS address , by being a member of the BPA AOS or the IPC AOS
landholders can also request details by paper submissions and paying the fees too
why can they do this ?
because parliament allows them to , within certain parameters
if the DPA is broken , they can all be reported to the ICO and potentially sued , hence why some people are doing so in their fightbacks0
