Swansea Airshow 2017
Options
Wow, I am surprised at how quiet this board has become.
Thought there would be all sorts of chat about the airshow.
Anyway, The airshow is today and tommorrow in the bay of Swansea.
I looked so far at the wales air show website, one thing I noticed that it did not say how much the admission charge was to the display area. I just found a Wales online (newspaper) article http://www.walesonline.co.uk/whats-on/family-kids-news/wales-airshow-2017-swansea-times-13258796
which says it is all free (except parking). I would have thought the wales airshow website would have been singing from the roof tops that there was no admission charge. !!! sheeesh.!
I want to go today/tommorow the timetable for flight display is only available on the app, but I can't do apps, so has anyone got info on the flight display timetable?
I want to park for free, any suggestions what is the traffic like there now today as we speak?
I want a good view any suggestions where I should go?

Hi,
I went yesterday, I parked for free off Bond Street, that whole area of about 20 streets is "Resident permit holders only" but the law requires the council to also provide within such zones parking for people without a permit. So you can see white dotted parking bays painted on the roads, the ones for permit holders are painted on the roads with the words "PERMIT HOLDERS ONLY" .. the ones for anyone do not have those words painted beside the box, and the sign on the pavement for each block of bays also states "permit holders only" and does not state that on the sign for the ones that are for anyone. Naturally most of these parking bays were full up but I managed to find one space.
One thing I did not notice is that when you enter the Residents Parking Zone there are signs that say something like other bays up to 3 hours.
I thought I could be there all day, because I missed that zone entrance sign, and the sign on the actual bay I parked in did not stipulate up to 3 hours.
I was there about 4 hours, and unlikely I would have had a ticket as it would have taken traffic wardens for ever to patrol and note down all the reg plates and the time they were seen and then again and again and again until eventually some were there for more than 3 hours.
As to the show itself, I was not impressed, If you like a day on the beach, then go and have the added bonus of the occasional nice planes to look at but the planes were quite widely spaced apart in time, and they were just going back and forth over the sea up and down the beach, not taking off or landing (obviously). And they were quite far away, the beach being very wide, and people being on the road and the dry sand at the top of the beach.
The Red Arrows and Spitfire were good, other notables Blenheim bomber, vampire, strikemaster, Eurofighter (I missed it), air sea recue H'copters (I missed).
I did not venture down the the end of the beach, there may have been like a commercial zone with displays, but I don't think there was much there. they said there would be a mock up of a Chinook. Not sure why they did not land an actual Chinook on the beach, maybe not enough room with the sea defense wall .0
