Can I get a refund from a non-cancel hotel?

I have booked a Premier Inn room for Sunday 2nd July as I was due to see Adele at Wembley. Adele has cancelled so I no longer need the room. I have checked the website and as I didn't book the flexi rate I am not entitled to a refund, is there any way of getting my money back?

As a one off on a busy night they may exercise discretion - when a high proportion of the rooms are sold for an event and they've no way of reselling I'd expect them to stick to the T&C's
I stayed at the Hilton Wembley on Thursday night at a rate before prices rocketed for the Adele gigs and I suspect they'd almost have paid me to cancel so they could re-sell at a higher rate0 -
Another poster around has lost £400 on the same sort of thing , not sure which hotel though, could be premier innmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Can't understand why people do this if plans aren't 100% certain. What did you save, a tenner?0

£21 on a 2-night Premier Inn booking I made the other day. My friends dropped out but I went anyway and had a great time, and the £21 covered my train fare for a day out!I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
