I have a message from a buyer in France, they are brand new, no feedback and I shipped their item nearly 3 weeks ago. The message says ' Bonjour,
Je voudrais une facture si vous plait.
Merci'
which babel translates as meaning they want a bill- are there any French speakers please that can see a different meaning with the wording?

I think they want an invoice. Perhaps they have a business and need it for tax purposes ?You're only young once, but you can be immature forever

Oh dear, I've no idea how to send them that when it's all paid for- I'll go and have a fiddle and see what I can do.
This is my usual holiday curse, just finishing packing for my holiday tomorrow and the questions start to roll in- it always happens, when I am home I go weeks with no questions !I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. in your sold options, there is an option to print an invoice. You could do that and then attach it in an email and send it to himYou're only young once, but you can be immature forever

I have responded in English and explained how to print out a copy of their ebay order - hopefully that will be OK.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I get this request quite lot, generally I find these are business purchases.
I generally just provide an invoice as a .pdf which I e-mail them. I don't think people see Ebay invoices as 'official'
I got a request for an invoice 3 years later from one buyer just recently! They had taken the item out of the country and Spanish customs wanted to see receipts for everything on their return to prove they hadn't bought it while out of the EU.0 -

'facture' in French, 'fattura' in Italian. For my Italian invoices (for language teaching) I include my NI number, indicating that it is the equivalent of their fiscal number, and a little explanatory note that I don't charge VAT and a note of the apposite HMRC regulation number. Ah, this may not be up to date but from an old invoice: HMRC Reference Notice 700/1 (Feb 2014)0

I presume you're running some kind of invoicing system then? Some people expect you just to make one up in Word or whatever, as far as I'm concerned as good a fraudulent one.I generally just provide an invoice as a .pdf which I e-mail them. I don't think people see Ebay invoices as 'official'Warning: any unnecessary disclaimers appearing under my posts do not bear any connection with reality, either intended, accidental or otherwise. 'Invoicing system' makes it sound rather grand, as it is just something I created myself, but I can go back to any of my records and pull all sales details, combine in with my business info / letterhead, then spit it out as a .pdf0
