Avoid st James place at all costs! a local ifa will be than them!
The comment is a little extreme: they are not a criminal enterprise!
SJP offer a high level of customer service and charge accordingly. My late father used them: he had mobility issued and so it was helpful than an advisor came to visit him at home. Obviously he paid handsomely for this level of service.
Personally I would prefer to make my own investment decisions rather than paying hefty fees for someone else to do the work, but that is a personal decision. SJP are right for some people... but such people are unlikely to be on MSE!0 -
I am sure any IFA would be happy to travel to a client's home for far less than an initial fee of 5% and an ongoing charge of 2%.0

i know ifa's that charge ongoing 0.75% will do home visit and not charge 5% initial. stay well away from SJP0
