any templates from "back then" are no longer useful, which is why you cannot find them

you should use the ones in the NEWBIES sticky thread, in this case the blue text one , nothing else

you are overthinking this, just use the blue text appeal as keeper, from whover they sent the postal pcn to, it really is that simple

as mentioned above , stop trying to reinvent the wheel , its not necessary

you can google PALS to see what it is, please do so and get the RK to contact them and complain , asap

you check the PPC against the AOS list on the BPA website and also on the IPC website , then you use the appropriate template , again not difficult

lets assume you know nothing despite your previous history, start again , follow the steps in the NEWBIES sticky thread and do not overthink this matter

do as we tell you, as the NEWBIES thread tells you , tell the KEEPER to do what we say and the NEWBIES thread says

dont look for old out of date stuff , dont follow any old practices, just follow the NEWBIES sticky thread (yes it is up to date)

IGNORE what MSE says, their advice is appalling and out of date and contradicts POFA2012 , A ppc must follow POFA2012 TO HOLD THE KEEPER RESPONSIBLE FOR A DRIVERS ACTIONS

Also, MSE states: "It might be the driver wot dunnit – but that doesn't mean it's the driver who'll have to pay. Parking operators in England and Wales are allowed to hold the vehicle's owner liable for unpaid charges if they don't know who the driver was and the owner refuses, or is unable, to name the driver."

so this contradicts the advise given on the sticky.

    Haha!

That's a generalisation and not true in every case. MSE advice on private parking tickets is NOT good. This forum is good.

MSE don't realise that some parking firms can't, or choose not to, use the law on keeper liability.

APCOA is one. Please trust our knowledge on each and every firm!
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

  • Okay, thanks. Does APCOA have an online appeals process as there is only a postal address on the notice? Or do I send it somewhere else?

use the method advised on the actual postal notice , the pcn itself will tell you

if that means sending a letter, take the letter to the PO and ask the counter staff for a free certificate of posting (not recorded , not special delivery)

I thought they used to give an email addy on the back of a PCN? Double check.

  • The email address is listed under the How to Pay section but it only mentions a postal address under the How to Appeal section.

Also, is there a template I should use to contact PALS at the hospital or should I just send a short email explaining the circumstances?

A short complaint email, not so much explanation, more rant...this is predatory and unfair on patients, contrary to Government policy.

No template, IMHO complaints are better written from the heart.

But don't say who was driving, say 'we' instead. DO NOT write it like your opening post above!

The driver has not been identified. I was neither the driver, nor am I the registered keeper of the vehicle but I have been asked by a friend to help as I have successfully managed to avoid a parking fine from a ticket a few years back but I can't find the templates which I used back then, it was a MSE one but not from the forum. What is PALS and I understand that the blue text is only for BPA members but how do I know what type of car park it is?

a word to the wise ;)

posts #1 and #4 both contradict what you have just said

the correct wording is THE DRIVER PARKED , THE DRIVER PAID FOR , etc

or do you think that parking companies do not monitor these forums ?

whoever the driver may have been , your posts must only say THE DRIVER or THE KEEPER, nothing more, especially on a free public forum accessible by billions of people
