PPI & Bankruptcy

HI,
Is it true that you cannot re-claim PPI if you have been previously bankrupt?
I had PPI on 2 bank loans dating back to the late 1990's. These loans were settled. In 2010 after a horrendous divorce I applied for voluntary bankruptcy and then was discharged exactly one year later, 2011. Last year I attempted to claim PPI back on my previous loans through a PPI company. All seemed to be going fine, I received forms back from the bank regarding the PPI only to be told they were unable to progress any further as I had been previously bankrupt and any monies paid as a result would be paid to my creditors. Is this correct given that I have applied to reclaim 6 years after being discharged?
Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated please

Yes.
The money belongs to your creditors.0 -
Any asset from pre bankruptcy belongs to the OR to distribute amongst your creditors.
PPI is a pre bankruptcy asset.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
The PPI company should not have taken this on, did they ask you if you had been bankrupt, did you tell them?.
Any redress will go to creditors and you will get a bill from the PPI company.0
