PPI help please

Hi
I have only just joined and i am looking for help.
I havent had much luck with past PPI claims but have found in the loft 2 letters from seperate entities who i am hoping i may have luck with.. they were opened in the late 80's and were both active accounts in the mid 90's..one was a sears store card opened at Fosters menswear.. and the other was for a credit card called 'assent' which was a eurocard/ mastercard..
Due to the length of time since i had them, is it possible to make a claim and would anybody know who i would contact to initiate checks to ascertain if i had PPI..
Any pointers would be greatly appreciated

Yes, Assent was Barclays.
