Storing things for a few weeks?

I am staying in student accomodation but I get dla right now and my contract ends in a few weeks. I don't know to ask current landlord to stay on a few weeks though I dislike the property and its a mess right now as other tenants have moved out and my room is tiny

The pro is that rent is £55 a week tough after summer landlord is raising it to £75 so moving anyway, assuming he lets me pay £55 a week for a few weeks its cheapest way of staying in town however I dislike the property so much that I have been visiting friends and relatives on and off for past 2 months since exams finished.

I queried my ex landlord in same town where I stayed last year when rent was £60 all inclusive (bar internet but had that free as ex tenant left it on over summer as they had 12 month contract) but they have refurbished and it now cost £80 per week beautiful room, beautiful surroundings its just the cost that is too much for me, not that I can't afford it but seems a lot if im just lazing about for 2-4 weeks.

That LL is happy for me to move back for 2-4 weeks (or until start of new semester) as I was a good tenant and I would be desperate to move in there but again the cost.

That and I have a armchair and computer/tv to move and about a binbag of possessions, I tried man with vans and they wanted like £45 to move these things 1 and a half miles, I could get everything bar the chair in a taxi but still would be about £8 im assuming but then what about the armchair? I got it in charity shop for £10 and its worth about £300 new so don't want to lose it.

But either way I plan to most likely move to friends in a few weeks and the van costs are £50 to go 90 miles.

Sorry sorry I hope not off topic but point is if I just arrange man with van to friends place it has to be done by the 10th July but I have a holiday planned for next weekend (totally forgot it was weekend before I moved) and whilst it would take about 15 minutes to pack stuff it feels rushed as at my parents until late tomorrow night hence me wanting to stay a few weeks in same town.

That and I want to be in this town for a few days around my birthday and cheapest is £25 a night hotel (birthday in 3 weeks) so by time I paid for that hotel it won't be much more i.e about £100 to stay an extra 2 weeks whilst relaxing around at same time and not worrying about rushing.

Hoping for some thoughts.

Surely some friends or family you speak of that you visit could help you move your stuff wherever you need it to go?

I'm not clear on what - you seem to have outlined all your options, you just need to choose one?

This is not the website of a storage company. You may have got to the wrong place? You may like to try again?

So sorry that I have ment some disabilities that make me seem not "normal"

I thought people might have better options for storing or opinion on staying somewhere I don't like very much as its less hassle, somewhere I like but is expensive or finding a third option!

For the sake of a month, if it were me and I weren't at risk staying put (e.g. no threats to health or unsavoury housemates or anything), I'd stay where I was.

Your best option is to rent a storage unit and get someone to put the furniture in there and then stay in a budget hotel until you are ready to rent again.

Its a armchair, and a tv and computer and some bedding (and food but I can take that back with me in bags on train should that need arise) so not enough for storage and should I move it won't be same town anyway.

I was hoping to stay at my landlords other property around the corner but he says it needs cleaned out as all the tenants have moved out, its a much nicer house in a much quieter street and I could push the chair there.

I could leave the armchair or donate it but rather take it with me as never going to get a chair as good as that for cheap again.
I could even make a few trips on train as have a ticket aleady

You believe the chair's worth money - but it's a liability and it'll cost money to move it .... so, you could try to sell it and get a good price for it and just accept that "it's gone, but I no longer have a liability that's costing me money to keep".

Sometimes you have to let bargains go ... simply because the cost/hassle of continuing to own them makes it awkward. You might spend the next 20 years wishing you'd never sold it, but, right now, it's the single item that's clouding your decision-making and judgement.
