First Direct - Transfer of Standing Orders
I received my welcome pack from First Direct with details on how to authorise FD to transfer over my direct debits from my old bank account.
On the paperwork it states that FD will also transfer any overdrawn funds from your old bank account to the new First Direct account.
I do not want my old acccount closed and I do not want the current overdrawn funds transferred to the FD account as I have an agreement to pay this off at £80 a month with the bank.
Can anyone advise if FD can do this or if I need to advise them of the existing agreement with my old bank?

Although it tells you how to authorise, this doesn't mean you are obliged to.0

I have just opened a First Direct current account but have no intention of closing down my old current account. I just want to grab the £25 from them!0

I'd just give first direct a call on 08456 100 100. They are usually very good at dealing with non-standard requests.
I'm sure you can leave your overdraft where it is, although you may find it better/cheaper to set up a low cost loan or use 0% credit cards to pay it off, rather than paying your old banks overdraft rates.
Hope you enjoy first direct. Can't rate them highly enough. Not the very best rates, but their customer service is great.
By the way, if they mess up making the transfer, I think they give you £10 to say sorry!
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.
