Yes but they've done it through the agency who hired me.0 -
I don't think you have been sacked have you? You've worked your notice all bar a week and during that week they've put you on gardening leave if I'm reading it correctly.
Being paid for not going to work for your final week doesn't sound like so much of an issue to me.
No, because I wasn't intending to leave until September which they were fully aware of. So I've been asked to leave sooner.0 -

You were employed directly by the company, but they got an agency to tell you you were sacked? Who was your contract with?0 -
How about giving us a proper time line.
When did you give your five months notice you say they told you to give and what period did it cover?
Where does the one week notice you then mention fit into this?
When does your gardening leave fit into this? All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -

It's a joint agreement with multiple parties, but the agency is in charge of the HR side of things.0 -

I formally announced my intention to leave at the beginning of May, so that I would finish at the beginning of September.
In the contract it's only one weeks notice either way, so I've been given a weeks notice to leave and have been on gardening leave.0 -

So this wasn't a temporary role but a "permanent" one? If so, then it is perhaps more understandable that the employer is annoyed - they pay quite a hefty fee for each recruit once they have been in post for a specified period, and since you knew that you weren't staying, you could have cost them that fee for nothing. They have no doubt dismissed before they reach the end of that period to avoid the free for your recruitment.
Yes it was permanent, however I've been honest about my intentions to leave and do some further study at university right from the beginning and was hired knowing that this was the case.
I think you could be correct, with what you're saying about the financial incentives to dismiss me early.0 -
I'm told of someone who had handed in their notice to retire early, and was then given a diagnosis of a terminal illness with only months to live. The company revoked his application to retire early, so his widow would get the "death in service" benefit.0

I think that this board should advertise a vacancy for "Dentist Required".
Then they (or should I say "(s)he") could do all the difficult preliminary work of "pulling teeth" from the OP in some sort of triage process so the real issue could be revealed for more knowledgeable posters to deal with.
Just an idea...0
