Nest with Combi Boiler and Solar hot water

Hello

I am planning to replace my old 1980 thermostat with nest thermostat. I bought this house that came with the solar panel and solar thermal systems installed.

My Setup:
I have Solar PV systems installed for electricity generation. I also have 2 panels of tubular solar thermal system that supplies hot water. I have a water cylinder in the loft that gets heated up connected to a "deltasol" controller where it monitors the temperature of solar panels, and water temperature in the cylinder. The thermal system also has a "timeguard" system connected.

I was told by the previous owner that if the hot water tank becomes empty then the combi boiler will kick in to provide hot water.

What I want to do:

simply put can I connect my heatlink to the combi boiler and not worry about the solar thermal system.
Also will my nest effectively work with both central heating and hot water system

Can someone here please help me

Thanks
Kash

Just ignore the hot water and fit it as a normal combi
  • Thanks Alex,

Should I disconnect my hot water controllers and time guard??
will I be able to control the functionality of hotwater through nest.

No leave the hot water alone.

From my understanding of how you say your solar works the combi runs your taps if there is not enough hot water in the tank so your nest would be unable to control the hot water as it's essentially on demand.

A nest that controls hot water would be a boiler that heats a hot water tank not a combi.
