    Final update

    Got a call from IKEA yesterday morning to say they would be replacing my hob. As it happened I was having to go into the city yesterday so I said I'd lift it myself.

    Not only did they replace, they are also paying for the electrician to fit it :T

    So today I finally have a fully working hob
