Afternoon all.
Wet and windy here all day and looks set for the rest of the evening. It's not cold so that's something.
Silver-oldie- what a bloomin' cheek! Some people, even families, are just beyond the pale.
Funnily enough JackieO, I've just spent half an hour in 'live chat' with O2 about my monthly contract. I've been paying £18.00 a month for unlimited minutes, unlimited texts and 1GB of data. As a BT broadband customer I could have got a much better deal from them. O2 cancellations have offered me the same texts / minutes along with 2GB data for £11.00 a month. I don't use much data as I haven't got the coverage here to access it so am happy that my bill is down £7.00 a month.
I just wish I didn't have to pay for BT line rental as I don't use my landline at all, only need it for broadband, which is terribly slow here!
Did my PVG visit this morning and then got some odds and sods at the local supermarket. Only milk and eggs and salady bits. I've spent a bit of the day doing the cooking up of meat, beef korma, bolognese sauce and a chilli con carne. More to be done tomorrow.
The joiner called round with the box and pelmet for last minute adjustments, he's a bit of a real old-fashioned joiner who takes great pride in everything he does. 'Measure twice, cut once' is his mantra. My walls aren't true so he fiddles around with the wood a lot. He was in the big barn cutting it to fit. He's away now to make the final adjustments and then paint them both. They'll just make things tidier in the hallway.
Whilst he was up the ladder he sprayed my curtain tracking as it was sticking.
Still no work to second mark - I'm really annoyed now and will email both the tutor and our curriculum lead. Aaaargh!
Hester - so sorry to read about your DD's dog, they do become a loved member of the family.
Time for sitting back and relaxing. I hope that others can do the same.0 -
Had someone round for an hour to help me clean the house, did a bit of shopping for bread, fruit and yoghurt and then got the towels dry and put away and dishes washed.
Finished up the smoked fish with potato salad tonight and have ordered a small meat hamper on special offer which will arrive next week and most of it can be frozen.
Hester
I am so sorry about your daughter's dog and the difficult decision that had to be made.
I managed to put a number on the front of the bungalow and shorten the voile panels for the staircase window and put them on new curtain wire instead of the weird bendy plastic rod they had been on so feel quite productive.
Hugs to all."This site is addictive!"
