Redundancy & Notice Period

Hi,
I have worked for a very specialised manufacturing business for 9 years, and I have a contract with a 6 month notice period. I am a manager of a factory department. I was offered a 6 month contract by my old boss last year (who has gone....) and took this as and security for me.
However there is a restructure about to take place as the business shrinks and changes are made. I believe I am a target (just in my waters..)
Would my redundancy be 6 months salary, or 6 months PLUS the 9 weeks (one week per year).
Thanks!
JJ

bit confused by your terminology,
you say you are on a 6 month contract what are the termination terms in that contract?
It may be that non renewal just means paying for the rest of the contract term and redundancy(9weeks) not a further 6 months.
Your statutory redundancy should be 9weeks(adjusted for age).
Depending on the exact terms of the contract and normal practice of the company any notice may or may not come under the compensation umbrella to qualify to be included in the 30k tax free,
if it does come under the compensation umbrella the company is allowed to keep the tax/NI and pay you net.
(I remember now having checked this is the company that stitched you up over a bonus)0 -
Sorry - in my contract I have a 6 month notice period..0
