Please read LOC123's version of a costs application, you will need it. No-one is telling you to change your costs schedule (you can't) but I am telling you to read the example by LOC123 and adapt your argument to show unreasonableness as well, for which a Judge can award exemplary costs ON TOP.

Not as such, as I said you are NOT changing your mind. This will be a conversation with the Judge about punitive costs for their conduct. Please read LOC123's example before one of us dies...!

I don't have a printer unfortunately. Going to have to dash somewhere to get it all printed first thing.
Last thing - I still don't get whether I should redo the costs schedule or just discuss with the judge?

I would not re-do the costs schedule, just take it plus ask for more, based on their conduct. Do not let an Usher tell you to leave, if the case is no longer on the list, insist on 5 minutes with the Judge on the spot (be very polite and no need to mention when you read the discontinuance email nor mention any phone call, play dumb).
