Why bump a year-old thread which had inaccurate information in the first place???
It's taken a year for the OP to finally find a cowboy retailer, but without a proper link we will never know.

Link to retailer website as required. See the para. where they explicitly deny the refunding of delivery.

For those who state cancellation of contract applies to get this, this refund should be given as a basic consumer right - it is part of the act after all.

Companies' own T&C should not replace the refund that is legally due. And this is not new. See this article from 2015 and yet it is still happening today.

Online companies in the main just conveniently "forget" the refund is due and have to be emailed to get them to do so. It is irrespective if they're a "cowboy" retailer or not - the legal requirement applies. River Island are a massive company but do not refund the standard delivery charge unless challenged. Disturbia refunded after a reminder, Boohoo and MissPap the same, and there are more too.

The question is why should we have to do this when it is our right?

Add up the delivery charges for the order in full you have returned in the last 12 months - mine is over £60!

Maybe stop buying stuff you don't need then?

If you want to be taken seriously on this forum, you really need to make sure that what you are posting is both relevant and correct.
The article you link to is actually dated 9th July 2010 and is using the Distance selling regulations as a basis for its information. The DSR's haven't been in force for about 4 years.

My total is £0. I am careful what companies I buy from and only buy things that I want/need so the chances of me returning a full order for a refund are slim but the times I have I've had the outbound postage refunded with no issues.

Maybe you should start being more sensible with what you buy and where you buy it from

I'm with you on this one, I think I have returned one thing in the last 2-3 years.

Serial returners like the OP just push up prices for everyone else.
