Or use an app that has offline maps. Navmii springs to mind.0 -
I had a similar problem with something (can't remember what) which was fine with the factory charger but when charging via a standard usb cable it assumed it was connected to a pc and behaved differently. I solved this by putting a small piece of tape over the two central connections in the usb plug.
Pins 1 and 4 supply power. Pins 2 and 3 are for data.0 -
Thanks everyone. I have an old garmin nuvi 200 - i have tried everything but i dont think its going to work whilst charging....only works when you take it out of the usb port.......have done rac route planner and should be okay.....(whilst charging in the usb port it does show a little picture of being connected to a computer...looked at trouble shooting and it says that when your sat nav is in mass storage mode it will show this??? i give up to be honest and need to just get the car cigarette lighter mended.
also dont have a smart phone just basic mobile so cannot use that...
Thanks Le Kirk - but truly nothing works at all...taking it out - putting it in...its not having it.
thanks again - hopefully i will not get lost tomorrow0 -

Have you tried Norman Castle's suggestion? From what you are saying i would be surprised if that didn't work.0
