I made an order from Empire Stores on the 21st April using a code that they sent directly to me for buy now pay Oct and a free gift
Three days later my order turned up- but they had already taken payment from my CC- and no free gift. So I emailed them- and very slowly got the saga below ( have removed personal details for obvious reasons)
The first email to them was as follows:

> Subject:

> I ordered a towel set from you on the 21 Apr 2005 which
> i
> entered a code in to give me a free gift and buy now

> card alread and there is no sign of the free gift
> which was suppopsed to be from a selection of
> premier
> gifts
>
> Please could you let me know whats going on with
> this-
> I am most disappointed to have had the payments
> muddled and no gift
I then received this reply:
Dear Miss ******
> Thank you for your email.
> The order code you used had passed its expiry date
> and therefore was not valid
> against your order. As you gave your credit card
> details at the time of
> ordering, the money was debited from your card on
> despatch of the order.
> Kind regards

So I then followed up with this:
Subject: Re:
That is very strange as I used the order code within
5 days of receiving the letter that you sent me with
it on.
Can you tell me when the code expired then? Seems like
i didnt have much chance to use it
And today I received this one:
Dear Miss ******
Thank you for your email.
The code expired on the 26/04/05.
Kind regards
Vicky Huggett
So the code actually expired 5 days AFTER I had placed my order- and was not as they said expered when I used this. This email is all done on replies so they can read what they stated before.
This is very shoddy service- I wont be using them again in a hurry
