Hi All
I have tried to claim ppi from MBNA credit card since 2015 but was told that we had already claimed in 2012 and it was declined. When I have pointed out that in 2012 we only asked for advice they told us that that was considered a claim and was declined.
I have asked financial ombudsman to review and they have said they cannot help as it was past 6 months window.
I have been told by them that had I been in touch with them inside the 6 month window they would have upheld our claim as we were told by MBNA that it was compulsory to have PPI when we applied for the card.
We are really upset by the way MBNA have treated us and really need help with what we can do next given that the PPI amount to be claimed is several thousand pounds.
If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Who told you that?
That does sound like something the FOS would say as they have not investigated the complaint and do not know anyhting about the sale to make such a judgement. For example, what evidence exists to support your allegation that you were told it was compulsory to have it?
Hoewver, if was the FOS telephone line rather than an onbudsman or adjudicator, then they are known to be very agreeable to what ever you say and tend to suggest outcomes on the assumption of what you say is correct. If anyone can help it would be very much appreciated.
