Egg - The Credit Card I never knew I had!

Got home tonight to find a brand new Egg card on the doormat.
I had an Egg card until a couple of years back when I paid off what little was on it and (I thought) closed the account.
I've certainly had no correspondence or emails from them to suggest I still had an account.
Sure enough I looked in my tin of old bits and my old card is in there and it expires in November this year.
Does this sound normal? I obviously can't say with 100% certainty that I closed the account but I think I did, coupled with the fact I've not head a peep from them.

You would not hear a peep from them unless you had logged on to the website.
They are an Internet only bank?0 -
True enough, still a little surprised though as I'm sure they would have sent me "Egg Related Info" and stuff like that.
It's hardly the end of the world though, shame there isn't a decent 0% period as I was a little shocked to see it has a £7.5k limit on it - that would do better in Icesave earning me money!0 -
Egg won't really send that much to you unless you've opted to have marketing info sent to you. If you have a zero balance then a statement isn't produced either so you won't be sent the usual email saying your statement is ready.
Might be worth logging into the Egg website and checking your email address... if you haven't used your card for over a year then I would have thought you'd have had some sort of BT offer during different months (an email is normally sent about these).
If your email addy is wrong then you could always phone them up and see if there's any BT offers on your account.0
