in Credit cards
Please can someone help me? I closed a credit card account down before Christmas and paid it off in full including any accruing interest. In February the bank reopened it without my permission and let an AA membership be charged to it. I have been disputing it with them since then as I did not authorise any such transaction but they are now stinging me with 4 months worth of bank charges and late payments remarks on my credit file and are telling me to cough up. Can they really do this??

Had you previously paid for your AA membership with this card?0

Chances are you gave AA a continuous payment authority (CPA) last year. Did you tell the AA you wanted to cancel it?0

I paid last year with this card but wanted to do DD this year.0

I tried but they said as they had already received a full payment from that card I couldn't. I had to go back to the bank which wasn't successful either.0
