Hitting your head against a wall in an understatement!

On a 1 year sim only contract. £15 a month which runs out in December.

Phone up yesterday to find out what my Early Termination Charge would be and was told £57.17. Asked if he could text this or email this to me but said it was not possible and would make a note on the account.

Ordered new contract from elsewhere, so phones three up today to get my PAC. Was told my ETC would be £87! Knew something like this would happen yesterday, thus asking for confirmation.

Discussed this for about 10 minutes, then put on hold whilst he looks into it. Comes back and apologies and says £57.17 is indeed correct.

Although I pressed the option for cancellations, for some reason speaking to someone in renewals & upgrades, so then he has to transfer me to get my PAC.

Lady then says the ETC is £70. Had to have exactly the same conversation with her as I did with the previous operator. Get put on hold and she comes back saying it is then £58.30

By this point id been on the phone for 40 minutes! Not wanting to waste another 20 minutes over the sake of £1, I asked again if I can have some confirmation in either a text or email - again not possible.

Something tells me im going to have to have another long drawn out call when my final bill arrives!

It appears that Three's early cancellation charges changed on 19th June 2017:
Lump sum equivalent to the total of all the monthly charges still remaining during the Minimum Term of your agreement less a discount of: (i) 3% for new connecting customers who are in the first Minimum Term of their agreement with us; or (ii) 10% for existing customers that have upgraded or renewed their existing contract with us for a further, subsequent Minimum Term. With effect from 19 June 2017, the discount applied when calculating the Cancellation Fee will increase to 20% for all customers. We reserve the right to vary the amount of the percentage discount from time to time.

The various amounts you were given suggest CS staff were working out the figure in their head. :)

Use the online chat rather than phoning them. That way you can get the chat transcript emailed to you.
