train ticket prices

Can anyone help me find cheap tickets to london please!
We have been saving up for ages to go in november for my partners birthday, it's taken over a year to save up the £500 we thought would be enough, this is a fortune to us (half a months wages!) I have been searching for tickets on the internet for 2 weeks now, I saw an advert for midland mainline on a billboard in my town which said, derby to london, from £7.00, but can I find it! the cheapest fares I have found so far is £119 each, and seeing as there is 2 adults going and 1 child, I think that we can say goodbye to over half our money just on fares! Help please!!

When? Have you checked for 2x 'Single' tickets?

When are the dates? I regularly get tickets with Midland Mainline from Nottingham to London for £5 each way, so £10 return.

Just had a quick look and there are still cheap tickets for November, like Sam Bee said have you typed in for 2 single tickets instead of a return?

Also do you qualify for a railcard? Anyone under 26 or over 60?

Check the single prices, I travel on MML and never buy returns always expensive.

If you tell us the date and time you would like to go to London and when you want to return (the same day or the next day), then I am sure we can help!

Check on the National Rail Enquiries website - http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ and you can see which trains are at which prices. You may find that some trains are at £14, some at £9 and some at £7, all on the same day, but depending on the time and how popular they are.

As these are Advance tickets, do not delay in buying them as there are only a limited number for sale at that price, and once they are gone they are gone.

Hi all, I'm trying to find the cheapest fare for 2 people, from Crewe (Cheshire) to Earls Court on 19th October (am), returning on the 20th pm. (I'm going to the Baby Show) Every time I look the fare is different and vastly different. if anybody is able to tell me how to find the cheapest way to get there, I would be very grateful. Thank you. anne
