Hi I have dealt with One call for the past 2 years. I think they have a standard letter regarding no claims discount that they send out to try and increase the premium. I was insured with them last year and had 5 years no claims they sent me a letter claiming thay had searched data bases and could find no proof of my no claims yet it was with one call !! Thinl Pne Call go in cheap and try and make money by sending threatening notices to increase premium in 14 days or cancel insurance.0

Hi.
My partner will be getting a new vehicle and I will be taking on their current one.
Both of us are insured by One Call.
Will we be charged 2 admin fees? Or just a single charge given that we're both One Call customers?

I took out a policy with One Call in January. They came up cheapest on Go Compare. Apparently, I selected the wrong option on one of the drop menus regarding an accident in December last year that was not my fault.
The claim for the accident is still ongoing.
Without my authorisation, One Call cancelled my original policy and took it upon themselves to create a new policy and extract another £426 from my bank account without my consent. The amount taken was more than my original policy. Apparently, they sent out a letter informing me of the cancellation, but I did not receive anything.
Prior to the second payment being taken, they also called me on a Saturday trying to sell me another product to reduce the excess on my original policy and did not mention that the policy would be cancelled.
Be careful with this company!0 -
Bought insurance for my van online. Gave them all the information chatted to their team online provided NCD proof and licence details. After 4 weeks got an email my insurance was cancelled. I had no clue if this so spoke to them and they said the underwriters wanted to know how many miles a year I will be using the van and they posted letters asking for this. I am not at home mostly so don't get to read my posts I prefer emails and they had my email and phone so I said why not contact me through email or phone if it's an urgent matter and they said they only have to send one form of contact and they done that by post. So my insurance was cancelled.
Next they charged me £106 after cancellation. lol The total premium was £651 I paid like £62 deposit and then after 2 weeks they took out £59 as first instalment and after two weeks from then they cancelled insurance.
This is what they told me
How the cancellation figure has been calculated.
Insurance Cost £651.87
Charge for time on cover £161.52
Additional Product(s) £0.00
Broker charges during the policy term £0.00
Previous Balance(s) due £0.00
Discounts applied to the policy £52.71
Cancellation Fee £55.99
Total cancellation cost £217.51
Amount paid (including any deposit) £111.20
Total balance to pay following £106.31
And they took out this through debit card through which I bought the insurance. It was not even in my name it's my friend card but when I asked how can they use that card without permission and I only used to buy the policy and not make any further payments and they said it was registered with them and it had my name0 -
What is the point in a non-advised broker? Isn't the value of a broker the advice they give?
If you're non-advised and focus on lower premiums, aren't you just a phone based comparison site? What you save in premium is unlikely to cover the cost of a claim a slightly more expensive policy would cover... and it seems the non-advised brokers wouldn't be able to advise you of this.0
