It was to Greenpeace or a similar charity that would have been anathema to Clarkson.
Lovely idea, but unfortunately somewhat inaccurate. The charity in question was actually Diabetes UK, and Clarkson did indeed allow the £500 DD to stand.

That'll teach me to post from memory rather than checking. I think I remembered the comments at the time rather than the story. Another worthy charity.

Thanks for straightening me out Gabba

bank transfer is incredibly safe for a seller - orders of magnitude safer than Paypal which in reality is probably the least safe way to be paid, as in many way Paypal exposes sellerrs to scammers that other payment methods do not.

I had a low feedback overseas buyer trying to buy something the other day but was blocked by my 'must have a Paypal account' block - he wanted to pay a 4 figure sum in euros. It arrived it my account a day later, and DHL delivered to him 2 days later. I think I ended up with about 50 pounds more than if I'd taken Paypal due to Paypals conversion levies for euros to GBP.

As a seller, BT's are great. Buyers should be cautious sending them.
