Repairing telescopic handles on loppers

Hi All
Sorry I wasn't sure whether to post here or on the Gardening forum, (done both) hoping someone can advise.
I have a pair of Rolson extending handle loppers. The handles are broken, they should twist and extend and then lock, but now they just twist and the whole handle comes off, I am unable to extend them at all. Can't work out what it is that makes them extend and lock. I'm assuming the rest of the tube is stuck inside the handles.
Has anyone else had this problem and can it be repaired?
Thanks

With anything from Rolson probably not worth it.0

If they've reached that stage they are probably ready for replacement.0

Seems like you have unscrewed them completely at some point and the locking cam has fallen off inside one of the handles. Take the handle off and tip both parts upside down and see if anything falls out.0
