Thanks for all the replies.
I'll let you know if anything happens0 -
IIRC once you have notified the company they have 6 months to claim them.
after that they are yours.
wait for full legal conformation before you ebay them though!

HTHIt could have been worse. At least source code's not combustible, or you can bet somebody at McAfee would have lit it.0 -
If it had happened to me, I'd be using the free Experian credit check via quidco (covered in the last MSE email) to make sure no one had opened any credit agreements in my name.
A couple of years ago someone diverted a couple of my bank statements in the post. Before I found out and got the bank involved, the fiend had used them to sign me up for half a dozen mobile phone contracts and an Alders Store card. It all got sorted, but I'm paranoid about anything like this now.0 -
www.annualcreditreport.co.uk is good for checking your credit report, they give you a new one each year. Experian is probably best if you just need it once (unless you want to pay) and quickly.0

There are no credit application or search footprints on your credit report.
This may be for a good reason, and is not always bad news:- some applications leave only ‘enquiry’ footprints
- some lenders don’t search you if your score is high enough (or so low that you wouldn’t pass the ‘cut off’ score on their scorecard)
- search footprints are left only at the credit reference agency searched so your financial activity will be spread around three credit reference agencies
- compared to other information on your credit report, searches are only displayed for a relatively short period
Contrary to old wives’ tales, adding searches to your credit report won’t blacklist you for credit. Even comparatively high numbers of searches only has a limited impact on your credit rating.0 -
They are yours to keep.
Paid for or not if they have come through your door they are your property now, and the company CANNOT ask you for payment now or force you to return the items. You should definetely not post them back at your expense.
You don't even need to tell the company that you have recieved them.
As long as they were addressed to you and not put through the door in error legally they are yours.0 -
Just to let you all know, i haven't had any contact from Pixmania regarding this, or Amazon about the original fraud.
I actually pulled the box out today, and found i had actually received them on 30/08/07.
So i guess they will be ok to sell on.0 -
I don't get it - if, as you claimed, your email address had been 'changed' to slims01@alumni.com why had you recieved an email confirmation at your old address?0
-
It's best practice to send an email to both the old and the new addresses when an email is changed. Also if they guy/girl/muppet had ordered the goods before remembering to lock Rick out by changing his email the confirmation would have gone off first to the old address - just a guess ;-)0
