That's the main reason we want to take her with us. It's for her benefit, though of course we love having her around us anyway. She is not happy being left alone at all.
She is very used to confined spaces. For a while we were all forced to live in one room together, and it was actually fine. She's not super keen on car travel but is ok with it.
So my main concern is making sure she's safe when staying with us in accommodation. We don't want room service opening the door or anyone else for that matter. A sign would be essential, but we need a place that will read it!
Self catering sounds ideal, but more expensive I'm guessing. A motorhome isn't a bad idea actually, but we have no parking so we'd have to rent it. We'll have to phone around and find out which places accept cats. Once we've found the right place we plan to use it again. It's just finding it in the first place! We're heading to the Swansea area btw.
Thanks for all your replies!
I don't think my Mum ever checked that a cat would be ok on-site or not because he never went out of the motorhome :-)
She owned her motorhome but there are plenty of places that rent them.Save £12k in 2017 / Dec 2017 Travel Cash = £12,400 / £14,000 88.5%[/COLOR]

Because she's not happy if we get back after a very long time. She looks freaked out in fact. But if we return after a few hours she's fine when we return. Hence our conclusion that she's not happy being left alone for too long. Sound reasonable?0 -
When our cat was little she hated being separated from us, would jump up and down at the door trying to come with us.
We have taken her to a few places, with accommodation I would phone and check. Think we had a B&B let us and we even took her on a steam train once. A couple of men walked past and said those people are even more crazy than us they've brought their cat. :rotfl:
I'm sure you and your wife know your cat.0 -
Speaking as a cat owner of many years, I would never take my cat on holiday. Cats are much better off in a cattery. The trick is to find a good one, preferably by personal recommendation. Our cat loves the cattery, they make a huge fuss of her and she always looked hapoy and relaxed when we pick her up.0

Hi
We take our cat to a wonderful cattery in Wales. He gets cuddles and lots of attention. I think some times he prefers the cattery to home. Is a round trip of a hundred miles to take him there for us.
If you would like address of cattery please pm me
