This stupid search facility has been broken for a couple of years now. I posted quite a while back about needing to buy a wedding hat and tried all sorts of searches. Trying 'navy wedding hat' sometimes returned 100 listings, but then 10 minutes later came back as no items found.

Ended down up going to Debenhams as it was very frustrating .

That's because of variation listings. It means there are 35 different listings but some of them have multiple options.

Search is broken, has been for a while. We sellers are pulling our hair out over it as Ebay are doing nothing to fix it, apparently its the 'new improved' search!! Sales are at an all time low, too many people are going elsewhere.

I was looking at a particular item yesterday and at the bottom was a "you may also like" suggestion. Clicked on it and it came up. I later searched for that item by name and eventually, going back to the original item I looked at, by item number and search could not find it. That particular listing does not come up in any search for that type of item, it is an aquarium water test kit.

I've found it like that recently too. Sometimes the same search on the same computer will return hardly any results one minute, then a few minutes later you might get hundreds. It's had problems for a long time but seems worse than usual lately. I've had far fewer sales than usual in the last couple of weeks, and I suspect the erratic search results to be largely responsible for this slump.
