Travel insurance for short cruise

I have booked an annual travel insurance policy that did not cover cruises, I am going on a 4 night mini cruise to Northern France and Zebbruger
Is it worth adding cruise cover as it is only across the water, I know only problem is f we have to cancel then would not get the money back
Has anyone else had this problem, we went on a short cruise in 2014 and I didn't realise then that I was not covered for a cruise, we did not have a problem while on the cruise

You do. The most important aspects of cruise insurance are the (remote) possibility of a helicopter evacuation plus the potential for repatriation by air ambulance. In our 20-odd cruises, about a quarter have had at least one helivac.0

Relative was taken unexpectedly ill on a cruise. Airlifted to closest European hospital. Costs then included wife's travel to hospital from nearest port when ship docked, her accommodation and costs for a month to be with him in hospital until he was fit to travel, hospital bills (high as he was in intensive care) then a special flight home as he was still very unwell.
A rare occurrence, but that's what insurance is for.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have not could of.0 -
