Notepad text file on Android?

I have a text file on a micro SD memory card which has all my passwords and banking account numbers and PINs, suitably disguised
of course, so that I can copy and paste as required to sign into my various bank accounts, email and Facebook etc. on my laptop which I don't save these details in case my laptop gets stolen.

How can I use this with an Android tablet that only has a micro USB charging slot, though it does have wifi and Bluetoooth?

Check to see if your tablet supports OTG. If so there are tiny USB card readers that take a microSD card which you could plug inti an OTG cable and read the content.

That is going to be pretty kludgie though and I'd suggest you consider a cross platform password manager as an alternate solution.

I'm not sure what you're asking.

As kwikbreaks suggests, are you asking how to copy a file to your tablet? You should be able to plug the tablet into your PC and copy the files from there (either in Windows Explorer, or via adb).

OP has a micro SD card which he carries in his pocket. He wants to be able to plug it into his tablet occasionally, but there is no port for it.

    I think he wanted to be able to read the microSD on the tablet rather than copy it across as he specifically mentioned not storing it on the laptop as it would be a security risk;

Having passwords stored anywhere including by a password manager is a risk and having some scheme that allows them to be remembered or reconstructed using rules would be better but not everyone can manage that without forgetting. I don't like OTG cables as they are ungainly but would give a solution of sorts to the question asked.

Normal PC-Android transfers are by MTP rather than ADB which requires a different windows driver and is more associated with sideloading and rooting although it certainly works.

    Ah, right.

Would something like this be what the OP is looking for? It's a portable, battery powered device that connects a micro-SD card to a wi-fi network.

Yeah. I've had problems with MTP/PTP. Windows Explorer often crashes, and the progress meter doesn't update. I find adb much more reliable.

Surely a piece of paper with same obfuscation plus the op's carp writing skills are more in tune to losing a laptop tablet and sd card, or is that just me:D

Upload it to filenurse.com (7 days until it is deleted), expirebox.com (48 hours until it is deleted), it generates a download link, then put that link into your phone browser and download it.

    Method 2: dropbox
method 3: email it to yourself as an attachment
    method 4: bluetooth

Why not use a password manager such as Lastpass - https://lastpass.com which is free and can be used on all your devices,it fills in usernames and passwords automatically

Given how much of a target they are for (previously successful) hacks, I'd be wary of password managers.

    Taken from the Lastpass website:-
Your data is encrypted and decrypted at the device level. Data stored in your vault is kept secret, even from LastPass. Your master password, and the keys used to encrypt and decrypt data, are never sent to LastPass’ servers, and are never accessible by LastPass.
So when LastPass was hacked all they see was encrypted data and unless they could hack the user's Master Password they could not access their data. Obviously a strong Master Password is essential, password strength can be checked at https://www.grc.com/haystack.htm

A response to when LastPass was hacked in 2015 is on their website at https://blog.lastpass.com/2015/06/lastpass-security-notice.html/
